This study, conducted using Community-Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR), focused on strategies for accessing safe and clean water in Nyakabira Village, Isunga sub county, Kagadi district. Identified during a Community Action Planning session in September 2023, the lack of clean water was recognized as a major barrier to development. A comprehensive literature review in Chapter 2 explored strategies for water access. The research, outlined in Chapter 3, used a descriptive and correlational design, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. A sample of 150 participants was selected using Solven's formula. Data was collected via surveys, interviews, document reviews, participant observations, and focus groups. The study revealed key challenges to water access, including long distances to sources (50%), financial (14%), environmental (11%), and infrastructure issues (14%). Participants engaged in strategies such as rainwater harvesting, filtration with local resources, and the use of sand, gravel, and charcoal to access clean water. These methods reduced water costs for Nyakabira and neighbouring villages, Kyarutale and Kinywataba. The research explored potential interventions to improve water access by December 2028, including expanding rainwater harvesting, piped water, filtration, and constructing more water sources closer to homes. Chapter 4 presented research findings, while Chapter 5 summarized results and offered recommendations for future researchen_US
