| dc.description.abstract | Malnutrition in children under 10 years is a significant public health issue in low-income communities. This study focused in Mpamba A Village, Kagadi District, Uganda, where malnutrition rates remain high. The purpose of the research was to assess the impact of providing balanced diets and to develop strategies for providing balanced diet and improving nutritional status in children below 10 years. Key objectives included; to assess the number of households with kitchen gardens in Mpamba A village, to find out the health status of children under 10 years in Mpamba A village, to find out the need for consumption of a balanced diet by children under 10 years in Mpamba A village, to find out strategies for providing balanced diets and improving Nutritional status in children below 10 years. The Research adopted PAR and a mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with caregivers, health professionals, and community leaders. Data was collected through questionnaires, Interviews, and focus group discussions. Mpamba A Cell has an estimated population of 610 people with 126 households, of which 160 men, 270 women and 180 children. We used to solve n’s formula to get the sample size of 95.
