    Abstract
The field attachment started in June 5th 2025 and ended in July 5th 2025. It was carried out at Miika Estates Company Limited (MECL) which is located in Kikonoka Village, Kitoba Sub- County, Hoima District, on Butiaba Kaiso Tonya Road, 25km outside Hoima Town, Mid-Western Uganda. During this period, the apprentice worked closely with the Farm Manager, farm worker, the Epicentre Manager and community members. The apprentice gained skills in sheep management, piggery, rabbit management, vegetable management, apiculture, fruit management especially apples and hash avocado, pastures and tree nursery bed and the key results included improved sanitation by improving waste management at the farm, establishment of sack gardens at the farm, improving human health and soil fertility by facilitating organic farming and economic empowerment by training farmers to practice modern farming methods like sustainable practices, irrigation and post-harvest handling. These practical experiences enhanced the apprentice’s technical skills and understanding of integrated farm management. One notable challenge encountered was the absence of a designated manager for animal production, which affected coordination and efficiency. It is therefore recommended that MECL considers hiring an additional manager to oversee animal enterprises separately, to ensure effective supervision and productivity.
