    Abstract
In fulfillment of the 40% practical component aimed at preparing students for real-life experiences, I undertook a one-month field attachment from June 5th to July 5th, 2025, at Busesa Community Development Organization (BCDO), located in Busesa Trading Centre, Matale Sub-County, Kibaale District, Mid-western Uganda. The objectives were to gain practical experience in sustainable crop and animal production, apply creative and innovative approaches in real farm environments, and develop soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and professional communication. During the attachment, I worked closely with the farm manager, farm workers, the Epicenter Manager, and community members using methods such as the visionary approach, observation, and interviews. Skills acquired included repairing farm structures, vegetable growing, fish farming, piggery, goat and poultry management, rabbit rearing, biogas system management, conflict resolution, and pasture establishment. Key outcomes include improved sanitation through waste management, enhanced community health via backyard gardens, identification and treatment of bamboo foot infection in poultry, restored harmony among farm workers, improved animal nutrition through super Napier planting, reduced flooding through water inlet reinforcement, improved soil fertility using organic fertilizers, pest control using biopesticides, and economic empowerment through the promotion of creative, visionary approaches. The dynamic nature of the farm environment also fostered the development of key soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication. Despite some challenges, the attachment enhanced both technical competence and professional growth. Recommendations include improving communication structures and modernizing farm tools at the host farm, as well as encouraging greater collaboration between the university and host institutions to align expectations and promote sustainable practices
