dc.description.abstractThis Community Based Participatory Action research (CBPAR) focused on the challenges associated with access to clean safe water by people in Nyamukaikuru B village, The study encompassed an exploration of the study's background, vision statement, purpose and objectives— such as to explore the status of the existing water sources, infrastructure and sanitation practices, challenges faced by the people, impact of inadequate access to clean safe water on the health and wellbeing of the people, the strategies for improving the accessibility to clean safe water. Nyamukaikuru B Village has population of 500 people, 96 households with 182 women, 213 children (122 are girls and 91 are boys) and 105. The village shares three water sources with neighboring communities, including the Kajoseph River well with 68% which serves Nyamukaikuru B, Kabyaza and Nyamugisa villages. The community faces the challenges such diseases (87%), long distances (33%) to water sources and geographical location. To address these issues, the research highlights solutions such cleaning water sources was highest (30%) boiling water, team work and community collaboration to maintain water sources. Chapter two presented a comprehensive literature review on safe clean water practices, drawing from journals, textbooks and reports. The research design detailed in chapter three, combines descriptive and correlational methods with both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools. A sample of 285 respondents was selected using Morgan (2012). Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, focus group discussions and participant observations. Chapter four presents the research findings while chapter five summarizes conclusions and offers recommendations for further researchen_US
