dc.description.abstractThis report shows what inspired during the one- month village Practicum. The practicum was carried out in line with the objectives of; Enabling people to know that they are key to their own development, enabling people come up with community Vision and implement community actions plan, Enabling the people develop their own strategies for local self-help and self- reliance through community participation, Enabling the people recognize and use the inter- relationship between development concerns in rural technologies, health, nutrition, sanitation, Agriculture, water management, income generation and environment so that they have a holistic approach to development. The practicum commenced on the 5th -August-2024 and ended on 5th september-2024 in Kakooga Cell, Nyatonzi ward, Kyaterekera Town Council, Kagadi District. The apprentice worked closely with the host family of Mr. Kisembo John and Mrs. Kunihira Florence. During the practicum, the apprentice worked also with the local leader (Chairman LCI) of Kakooga Cell, Kyaterekera Town Council, the faculty supervisor, Field mentor EM and Community Members at the family level, community level, individual and household level to enhance interventions with a theme of creating awareness to individuals that they are key to their own development, cause change and also create good relationship between African Rural University and URDT. The methods used during my one-month village practicum were Visionary Approach, Community Action Plan, Participatory Action Research, interview and Observation. The key results created by the apprentice include; Re-visiting of family vision, Boasting back home projects both at the host family and other neighbouring households through training them in making organic fertilizers, making organic treatment for chicken for preventing and curing Coccidiosis, introduced vermiculture for high farm yields, making of Lorena stoves, participated in council and community Meetings both at Community and Sub County level, The apprentice also taught the family and Group members appropriate technologies and these are: how to make herbal soap, liquid soap, making compost manure and making shoe polish and introduced Visionary Approach both at host family, institutions, groups and Community level.en_US
