| dc.description.abstract | This report shows what transpired during the one-month practicum. The practicum was carried out in 2022/2023. one-month Interns’ practicum objectives of; Facilitate the process of enabling people to know that they are key to their own development, Facilitate the process of enabling people come up with community visions and implement community action plans, Enable people develop their own strategies for local self-help and self-reliance through community participation, Enable the people to recognize and use the inter-relationship between development concerns in health , nutrition, sanitation, agriculture, water management, rural technologies, income generation and environment, so that they have a holistic approach to Development and to Identity a research Topic.
This Practicum started on April 1st 2023 and ended on May 30th 2023. It was carried out in Nyamukaikuru B Village, Nyamukaikuru Parish, Burora Sub-County, Kagadi District. During the practicum, the Intern worked closely with the community member , Households, individuals, groups and the host family where by the Intern did the following, improved health by facilitating the process of establishing kitchen gardens in host family, increased agricultural productivity by facilitating the process of different natural methods of farming, revisiting and creating their visions, reworking on their comeback projects, training mushrooms, teaching the community members on banana propagation, flour pumpkin, herbal soap making, hair shampoo, sawdust stove, show polish, reusable pads and charcoal making all were made and also road and the well of Nyamukaikuru were cleaned.
The methods used was; visionary approach, based on the methods of Community Action Planning, Participatory Action Research and Appreciative Inquiry among others and then tools used was, URDT scroll, flip charts, markers, 18-week URDT book, pen, notebook, masking tape and phone camera.
The groups, that intern worked with were so active and were ready to cooperate with the intern, learn from her and worked together as evidenced by the high turn up of members whenever the meetings were scheduled. The host family was really so good, and they treated me well like their own daughter. However, though many things worked well for the Intern, she also faced some challenges such as sickness during the one-month practicum. | en_US |
